Recently, the Phase I project of the all-vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) electrolyte production line of Dalian Rongke Energy Storage Group Co., Ltd. was officially put into operation in Dalian North Yellow Sea Economic Development Zone, injecting strong momentum into the global development of the energy storage industry.
It is understood that the total investment of the Phase I VRFB electrolyte production line project is 400 million yuan. The project involves the construction of production lines with an annual output of 1.5 megawatt-hours (MWh) of vanadium electrolyte and vanadium electrolyte crystals. Construction of the project started in July 2023, and equipment commissioning was completed in March 2025. Currently, it has officially entered the trial production stage.
Since its establishment in 2008, Dalian Rongke Energy Storage has developed over 16 years and grown into an industry benchmark enterprise. As the supporting unit of the "National Energy Key Laboratory of Redox Flow Battery Technology" and the "National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center of Redox Flow Battery Technology" approved by the National Energy Administration, as well as a national-level "Little Giant" enterprise (specialized, refined, characteristic, and innovative) and a global unicorn enterprise, Dalian Rongke Energy Storage holds more than 300 domestic and international patents. It has led the formulation of over 50 domestic and international standards for redox flow batteries, achieved independent and controllable technology across the entire industrial chain, and built a solid competitive barrier with its innovative strength.
At present, Dalian Rongke Energy Storage has built the world's largest manufacturing base for vanadium battery energy storage materials and equipment. Its output value exceeded 1 billion yuan in 2024. The installed capacity of vanadium battery energy storage projects under construction and in operation accounts for more than 60% of the global market, while its vanadium electrolyte materials hold a 90% share of the global market.
In the next step, the company will launch the construction of an all-vanadium redox flow battery bipolar plate production line and an intelligent warehousing project, continuing to consolidate its leading position in the energy storage field. This project will not only realize the iterative upgrading of its own technology and production capacity, but also set a new development model for the industry, accelerate the global energy storage industry into a new era of intelligence and high efficiency, and write more innovative chapters in the process of energy transition.
